The Best Worst-Date Story Contest

The Best Worst-Date Story Contest (“Contest”) is sponsored by Verified Funny, 5842 Harold Way, #301, Los Angeles, CA 90028, verifiedfunny.com (“Sponsor”).

The Contest is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are at least 18 years old at the time of entry.

Employees of Sponsor, individuals directly involved in administering or judging the Contest, and their immediate family or household members are not eligible.

Void where prohibited by law.

The Contest begins on September 17, 2026 at 12:00 AM Pacific Time and ends on October 31, 2026 at 11:59 PM Pacific Time (“Contest Period”).

All entries must be received before the stated deadline.

Visit verifiedfunny.com/spark and complete the Contest entry form.

Entrants must provide a valid email address and submit an original written account of their own worst dating experience.

No purchase or payment is necessary to enter or win. A purchase will not improve an entrant's chances of winning.

Limit one Contest entry per person. Multiple submissions, automated entries, and entries submitted using false identities may be disqualified.

Each entry must describe an actual dating experience involving the entrant and must be written in the entrant's own words.

Entries must not contain:

• Real names or other information that could reasonably identify another person.
• Private contact information or sensitive personal information.
• Threats, unlawful content, or material that infringes another person's rights.
• Stories copied from another person, website, publication, or other source.

Sponsor may disqualify entries that fail to meet these requirements or cannot reasonably be published without creating privacy or safety concerns.

Stories do not need to be professionally written. Entries will be evaluated for the quality of the story, not the entrant's writing credentials.

All eligible entries will be evaluated by the Verified Funny team according to the following criteria:

The entry receiving the highest overall score will be selected as the potential winner.

In the event of a tie, the entry with the higher humor score will prevail. If a tie remains, the judging panel will select the winner based on originality.

The potential winner will be selected by November 7, 2026 and notified by email within 5 business days.

This is a judged skill contest, not a random drawing.

One winner will receive $500.00 US, paid by electronic payment within 30 days after eligibility is verified.

The prize cannot be transferred or substituted. The winner is solely responsible for any taxes on the prize. No purchase or payment is required to receive the prize.

The potential winner must respond to the notification email within seven calendar days and provide the information reasonably necessary to verify eligibility and deliver the prize.

If the potential winner is ineligible, does not respond within the stated period, or declines the prize, Sponsor may select the next highest-scoring eligible entry.

By entering, each entrant confirms that they have the right to submit their story and grants Sponsor a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to reproduce, edit, shorten, adapt, anonymize, publish, and share the submitted story in connection with the Contest, its results, and promotion of Verified Funny.

This permission includes publication on Sponsor's website, social media accounts, and in advertising.

Sponsor will change names and remove identifying details before publishing a story. However, entrants acknowledge that people familiar with the underlying events may still recognize the circumstances. Sponsor cannot guarantee complete anonymity.

Entrants retain ownership of their original stories.

Sponsor may contact an entrant to request clarification or additional permission before publication.

Entrants who submit a qualifying story will receive a one-time promotional code for 20% off an eligible Verified Funny order.

The code will be provided after the submission is accepted as qualifying.

A purchase is not required to receive the code or enter the Contest.

The discount is subject to the following terms:

• Expiration: 7 days from the date and time the code is issued.
• Eligible products: any Verified Funny merchandise order.
• Exclusions: gift cards.
• Combining offers: the code cannot be combined with other discount codes. One code per order.

A qualifying entry does not guarantee selection as the Contest winner.

Sponsor will use submitted contact information to administer the Contest, deliver discount codes, notify the winner, and fulfill the prize, as described in its Privacy Policy.

Entering the Contest does not automatically subscribe an entrant to marketing emails. Any marketing subscription must be requested separately.

Sponsor may disqualify fraudulent, automated, plagiarized, or otherwise ineligible entries.

Sponsor may modify, suspend, or cancel the Contest if fraud, technical failure, or circumstances beyond its reasonable control prevent fair administration, subject to applicable law.

Nothing in these rules limits rights that cannot legally be waived.
